Rohr Handed Injury Boost Ahead Of Naming AFCONQ Squad As Key Defender Returns After 3 Months Out
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the announcement of his squad list for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles and high profile friendly with Egypt.

Bursaspor right back Abdullahi Shehu returned to action on Saturday, his first game after suffering a thigh muscle rupture which kept him on the sidelines for more than three months.

He suffered the injury while on international duty in an AFCON qualifier against Libya on October 13 and had to make way for Ola Aina after nineteen minutes.

The 25-year-old came on in the 80th minute as Bursaspor shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw against Kayserispor.

Like it or not, Shehu has been the Super Eagles first choice right back since the appointment of Rohr as coach but did not figure in their last three games of 2018 because of injury.

Benfica's Tyronne Ebuehi and Al-Nassr's Ahmed Musa are still recovering from injuries.
