Rizespor's Okechukwu Reveals The Key Attributes Of Victor Moses After Duel With Chelsea Loanee
Published: March 04, 2019
Rizespor midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu has hailed the qualities of Chelsea loanee Victor Moses after a duel with the winger in his team's 3-2 loss to Fenerbahce in a Turkish Super Lig game on Saturday, March 2.
Moses and Okechukwu were on the same Super Eagles team that lost 1-0 to Egypt in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Alexandria back in March 2016.
''I played closed to him and all I can say is Victor is a top player, he’s comfortable with the ball and I tried to stop him few times also,'' said Okechukwu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I trained with him in the national team and now I faced him, I think he’s a good dribbler and he improves daily.
''We didn’t discuss much before the game, we just greeted and then he said 'take it easy today' and we smiled.''
Victor Moses was the match-winner for Fenerbahce after stepping up to convert a penalty with six minutes left on the clock.
Explaining why Rizespor lost and his targets for the rest of the season, Okechukwu said : ''We conceded three goals because we lacked discipline as a team.
''My target is to help the team stay in the Super Lig and then score a few more goals.''
Okechukwu has impressed in the heart of midfield since his return to Turkey in the January transfer window, having contributed to two goals in his last three appearances for Rizespor.
