The Nwakalis have congratulated Mr Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over his electoral victory in the just concluded governorship election in Imo State.
They noted that the governor-elect is a lover of sports, especially football, and his victory in the polls will be a breakthrough to improve Imo State's place in Nigerian sports.
It would be recalled that Chief Allwell Nwakali, the Egbe Eji Gbagbuo Ubiam 1 of Eziobodo, vowed to deliver Owerri West Local Government to PDP and Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha on the day he came to inaugurate Team Ihedioha.
Speaking on behalf of the Nwakali family, Allwell Nwakali told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''We are congratulating him on winning the governorship election.
''We are happy that it became a reality that we were able to deliver Owerri West as we promised because the PDP Owerri West gave him 12,878 votes as against 2,660 APGA that came second and AA 2,538.
''As a licensed football agent and him a football lover, the Nwakalis are promising to work hand in hand with him in order to promote football in Imo State and to also help in the development of the young talents.''
