Etebo Misses Stoke City's Clash Vs Derby But There's Good News For Super Eagles Fans
Published: March 12, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Oghenekaro Etebo will play no part when Stoke City tackle Fikayo Tomori's Derby County in a Championship clash at Pride Park Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Manager Nathan Jones has made a precautionary move after opting to omit the Nigeria international from the traveling party to DE24 8X.
It is correct that the Potters number eight returned to full training on Monday but the game against Derby County has come too soon for him.
Super Eagles fans and coach Gernot Rohr should not be worried about Etebo's brief spell on the sidelines as he is expected to make Stoke City's match day eighteen when they face Reading on Saturday.
And he'll not be lacking match practice going into the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles, if he's given a run out at the Bet365 Stadium.
The former Warri Wolves star had found himself in the treatment room due to the grade one muscle injury he suffered against Nottingham Forest on March 2.
Nigeria have no further injury concerns with Brighton's Leon Balogun and Torino's Ola Aina passed fit after recovering from shoulder and abdominal problems respectively.
