Should Tammy Abraham Dump England For Nigeria After Southgate Latest Snub?
Published: March 14, 2019
Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham, who is on loan at Aston Villa, is one of Nigeria's target and the NFF haven't given up on their chase for his services.
It would be recalled that Nigerian Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick revealed to reporters in 2017 that the African powerhouse have successfully convinced the youngster to join the Super Eagles camp prior to Russia 2018 World Cup.
Pinnick's revelation forced the youngster's decision to turn down the African side, as he committed his international future to the Three Lions.
Despite pledging his future to the European country, Abraham hasn't featured for the Three Lions since 2017, no thanks to Gareth Southgate who continually ignores the youngster in his plans.
Considering his blistering form for Aston Villa which has seen him score 21 League goals this season, many Three Lions fans expected to see him in Southgate's squad list for the upcoming 2020 European Championship qualifiers with Czech Republic and Montenegro.
It is high time Abraham starts to think about his international future and the recent snub by Southgate should give him a clue of what to expect in the nearest future.
On the other hand, the former Bristol City striker will easily find his way into Rohr's current squad if he had chosen Nigeria before now.
His current form will be too hot to be ignored by Rohr, who never hid his desire to have the youngster under his watch.
Though Abraham got a call-up to England's U21 side, it wasn't a worthy consolation for a player of his calibre.
If Kylian Mbappe could become a World Cup winner at the age 19, then, Abraham should be thinking of being an integral part of any senior national team which the Super Eagles of Nigeria are more than ready to offer him.
