Troost-Ekong Returns To Training With Udinese After Injury Scare
Published: April 06, 2019
Nigeria international, William Troost-Ekong has resumed training with Udinese and is in contention to return to his side's starting XI ahead of their Italian Serie A meeting with Empoli on Sunday.
The Super Eagle was pictured in a training session with Igor Tudor's men on Saturday morning as they slugged it out in readiness for their 30th league game this term.
The defender was conspicuously left out of the Bianconeri 20-man squad that drew with AC Milan on Tuesday, raising fears over the severity of his injury.
Troost-Ekong has been the undisputed center back pairing alongside Bram Nuytinck or Jens Larsen at the Udine-based club and his omission versus Milan was viewed as a precautionary move by the club after he complained of pains in the abductor last weekend.
Having garnered his 28th league outing this season against Genoa, the 25-year-old marked a personal best appearance tally with that, with his most before that (27) coming during his time with Bursaspor in the 2017/2018 season, since he turned pro.

Udinese are currently placed 16th on the Serie A table with 29 points.
