'Anything Might Happen There' - Slavia Prague's Nigerian Star Fires Warning To Chelsea
Published: April 12, 2019
Chelsea earned a valuable 1-0 win over Slavia Prague in the first leg of the quarterfinal of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night thanks to Marcos Alonso's 86th minute winner at the Sinobo Stadium.
Having started the previous four matches on the bench, former Nigeria U23 invitee Peter Olayinka returned to Slavia's starting XI and tasted action for 82 minutes before he was substituted.
The former Gent striker was disappointed to lose to the Blues and is backing the Czech side to overturn the first leg deficit next week in London.
Slavia Prague have a decent away record in this season's Europa League, winning games against Zenit St. Petersburg and Racing Genk and holding a much-fancied Sevilla to a 2-2 draw.
"It was a difficult game, we tried, we pushed to our limits, but we conceded a late goal and we are disappointed now,'' Olayinka said to the official website of UEFA.
''But there is still the second leg and anything might happen there. We are not going to give up anything."

On a positive note, Olayinka avoided a booking last night and is available for selection when the return leg is played at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, April 18.
