Three Takeaways From Golden Eaglets Last-ditch Win Over Tanzania In AFCON OpenerThe Golden Eaglets of Nigeria began their quest for second AFCON trophy with a narrow win against Tanzania who are the host nation.

Goals from Ibraheem Jabaar, Akin Amoo, Wisdom Ubani (brace), and Olatomi Alfred were all the team needed to record their first win of the competition.

However, here are the top three lessons learned from the team's performance during the tension-soaked encounter

Manu Garba's Boys are Super Talented

The boys from Nigeria wasted no time to show the qualities they are made of as they created the goalscoring opportunity in 8th minute of the game, though it wasn't converted.

The team's overall display was a great one and everyone showed why they were given game-time by the gaffer.

Garba Must Work On His Defence

The Golden Eaglets made the job more difficult for themselves as the threw away a two-goal lead, no thanks to a jittery and fragile defence.

The experienced gaffer must work on his defensive setup as soon as possible, and such defensive display shouldn't be repeated in subsequent games if he must qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup.

Wasteful Attack

Forget the fact that they scored five goals, the Golden Eaglets were wasteful in front of goal. They would have won the game in the opening half if they had converted all the begging chances that came their way.

Garba's boys need to be more clinical in front of goal because luck could be against them in the remaining group matches.
