In the Italian Serie B, Nigeria U23 international David Okereke took his tally for the season to 9 goals from 26 games after scoring in the 57th minute of Spezia's 3-2 win against Ascoli at the Stadio Alberto Picco.
His Dream Team VII teammate Samuel Chukwueze was the hero for Villarreal in their 1-0 win at Girona, netting the winner after six minutes.
In the Danish Superliga, Frank Onyeka netted in the 54th minute as Midtjylland, who were without the suspended Paul Onuachu, registered a 2-0 win against OB at the MCH Arena.
The winger cum midfielder has scored in each of his last three matches in the division.
Remaining in Scandinavia, one-cap Norway international Ohi Omoijuanfo made it three goals in three matches but could not prevent Molde from losing 3-2 to Bodoe/Glimt in an Eliteserien clash at Aspmyra Stadion.
Omoijuanfo converted a spot kick with seven minutes remaining to make it 3-1 before teammate Leke James closed the scoring on 86 minutes, two minutes after coming off the bench.
In the Swedish Allsvenskan, ex-Flying Eagles striker Chinedu Obasi opened his account in the league for AIK in a 2-1 win over Sirius at Friends Arena (Solna).
Obasi scored a crucial equaliser in the 62nd minute and his team went on to win the game.
In an ongoing game between Dinamo Minsk and FK Gorodeya at the Dinamo Stadion, Minsk, the home team were leading 1-0 with an hour gone thanks to Kehinde Fatai's goal four minutes before half-time.
