No Injury Worries For Golden Eaglets As 'Little Messi' Is Cleared To Face Angola
Published: April 16, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there are no injury worries for the Golden Eaglets ahead of their second Group A fixture against Angola at the ongoing U17 Africa Cup of Nations
There had been fears over the availability of Sidos FC super kid Akinkunmi Amoo, fondly called 'Little Messi' by his teammates, following his injury-enforced substitution in the 93rd minute of the U17 AFCON opener against the hosts.
Amoo was not faking an injury to slow the momentum when he went down and had to be stretchered off the pitch as he was hit on the leg by an opponent near the center circle.
Although he initially experienced little pain, the good news is that the 16-year-old and twenty players trained fully in the penultimate workout before their match against the Palanquinhas.
Golden Eaglets next opponents, Angola have in their ranks the precocious talent Zito Luvumbo, who trained with Manchester United at the end of February and is being followed by several Portuguese clubs with a view to a transfer.
Nigeria will all but qualify for the semifinals of the U17 AFCON and the 2019 World Cup if they beat Angola on Wednesday.
