Does Ebuehi Have Any Hope Of Making Nigeria's 2019 AFCON Roster?

Does Ebuehi Have Any Hope Of Making Nigeria's 2019 AFCON Roster? Benfica right back Tyrone Ebuehi made his international bow for Nigeria on the 1st of June 2017 in a friendly encounter against Togo but couldn't add  to his international cap until November 2017.

Ebuehi was given some game-time by Gernot Rohr in Nigeria's 4-2 victory against Argentina and the Portuguese-based fullback was lively throughout the time he spent on the pitch.

His fine display was enough to win him a place in the Super Eagles World Cup squad and he went on to make his competitive debut for the West African giants when he came on for Bryan Idowu against Iceland in Russia.

As it looks like the youngster is finally getting the chance he deserves with the Eagles, Ebuehi unfortunately picked up a long-term injury which has prevented him from making his competitive debut for Benfica.

With less than two months to this year's AFCON 2019 tournament, Rohr is expected to submit his provisional list and it remains unknown if Ebuehi will be included in team.

Though the youngster is close to returning to full training, it appears too late for him to regain his spot  in the team.

There are many fullbacks who Gernot Rohr could turn to, hence, Ebuehi has a very slim and unlikely chance of making the team to Egypt later in the year.

Bryan Idowu, Shehu Abdullahi, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins and Ederson Echiejile are all in contention for a place in Rohr's AFCON squad.
