Allnigeriasoccer.com runs the rule on the Golden Eaglets players following their disciplined 1-0 victory over Angola in their second U-17 AFCON group game thus :

The Starters

Goalkeeper

Sunday Stephen: Was largely left untroubled by the hesitant Angolans and aside shoveling a low shot from Zito behind had very little to work on. (7/10)

 Defenders

David Ishaya: Didn't put a foot wrong in shielding away the Angolan attackers and defended to great effect. (8/10)

Clement Ikenna: Complimented his defensive partner in a way Garba will be thrilled to see. (8/10)

Shedrack Tanko: Superb showing from Tanko. Was one of the defenders to go farthest up the pitch and even saw a decent effort smack the framework. (8.5/10)

Ogaga Oduko: Kept the dangerous Zito in check for most part of it and did his defending job rather admirably. (7/10)

Midfielders

Samson Tijani: Covered up for any mishap for his team and dropped back to help the defence. (8/10)

Olatomi Alfred Olaniyan: Hushed display from Olaniyan. Did his work in keeping play ticking but didn't come up with anything spectacular. Hooked for Jabaar. (7/10)

Akinkunmi Amoo: Went on some mazy runs and was up to the task. Was good in picking out his teammates with some slick passes. (7.5/10)

Mayowa Abayomi: Much disciplined showing from Mayowa this time. Took care in winding up the opposition and picked his passes really well. (7/10)

Strikers

Olakunle Olusegun: Tested Geovani Carvalho ten minutes in and tucked in well in the final third. Scored the precise winner from the spot. (7.5/10)

Wisdom Ubani: Tried a couple of shots and looked really threatening upfront. Looked at home hitting long-range efforts. Came close to scoring with a free-kick. (8/10)

The Substitutes

Ibraheem Jabaar: Replaced Olaniyan in the second half and tucked in well in midfield. (6/10)

Divine Nwachukwu: Nearly got on the scoreboard after coming on for Olusegun but could not keep his shot down. (6/10)

Peter Agba: Helped to see out the game as fatigue started setting in. Looked a composed passer. (5/10)
