Three Talented Nigerians With Man Utd In Spain For Tournament That Launched Messi, Iwobi, Fabregas Careers

Three players of Nigerian descent are with the Manchester United U14 side in Spain for the 2019 edition of the Mediterranean International Cup, which is considered the most prestigious youth football tournament in the world.
According to New Manchester United News on Twitter, Hamzat Balogun, Habeeb Ogunneye and Oscar Guobadia were part of the Manchester United group that traveled to Costa Brava , Girona in Catalonia.
Manchester United are competing in Class CI, for players born after January 1, 2005, and faced EF Calonge Sant Antoni, Next Generation International and Can Rull Romulo Tronchoni in Group K.
The Mediterranean International Cup launched the careers of Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), ex-Chelsea and Arsenal hero Cesc Fabregas and Marcelo (Real Madrid).
Balogun is a versatile defender who can play left back, right back and central defense; Guobadia is predominantly a central defender who can be handy at right back while Ogunneye is comfortable playing in multiple positions on the right flank.
United have qualified for the next stage of the competition after winning two of their group matches, scoring seven goals and conceding one.
