Uganda Coach Gives Three Reasons Why Golden Eaglets Will Go On And Win U17 AFCON
Published: April 21, 2019
Head coach of Uganda U17 National Team, Samuel Fabin believes five-time world champions Nigeria are favourites for the 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Uganda crashed out of the tournament on Saturday following their 1-1 draw with the Golden Eaglets, and Fabin has given three reasons why the West Africans will go on and win the tournament.
''Looking at the teams, Nigeria are the favorites. Tactically, technically they are better than all the teams I have seen. That's my opinion,'' Fabin said at the post-match press conference.
''I am not complementing them but the boys are fast.''

Uganda were determined to make it to the semifinals and took the lead on 69 minutes, only for Ibraheem Jabaar to restore parity five minutes later.
Fabin has blamed his defenders for the goal conceded as well as the tactical and technical application from the Nigerians.
''I'll say it's a combination of the two. You'll realize when we scored the goal, Nigerian stepped up their game but we could have contained them if not for lack of concentration in the defense.
''It was an easy lob which the defender could have easily directed the flight of the ball but then he couldn't.
''All in all it was a very good game, Nigeria is a good team, we had to use all our technical abilities,'' he said.
