The Unappreciated Role Played By Chukwueze In Villarreal Leaving The Relegation Zone This season has been a bittersweet one for Villarreal who found themselves in relegation troubles during the opening half of the campaign.

The ugly situation forced the club's board of directors into changing managers on two occasions within the space of two months.

Manager Javier Calleja was sacked by the Spanish side and was replaced with Luis García, who didn't last long at the helm of affairs due to poor run of results.

Javier Calleja was re-hired by the Yellow Submarine and that was turning point for the club.

As much as the manager deserves huge credit for the club's rejuvenated form, Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze equally deserves more accolades than what he's getting from the club's supporters.

His introduction into the club's first-team brought spark to the attacking department that was far from impressive in the opening months of the season.

Apart from his dribbling skills, his desire to cut-in from the edge of the box to aim at goal is one of the reasons why he's rated among the best teens in the League.

The 19-year-old winger has been actively involved in seven league goals (5 goals and 2 assists) since his debut with the Yellow Submarine, and his goals are very influential in their desire to beat the drop before the end of the season.

Unfortunately, the youngster hasn't been getting the praise he truly deserves because he is neither a regular goalscorer nor a player who can guarantee three goals in a game.

After their 2-0 victory over Leganes, Villarreal now occupy the 15th position on the League standings.

It won't be out of place to assume that they are safe from being relegated to the lower division next season, all thanks to Chukwueze's unappreciated efforts.
