U17 AFCON: Ubani To Lead Attack, Chelsea's Akande On The Bench As Nigeria Announce Starting XI Vs Angola
Published: April 27, 2019
Nigeria U17 coach Manu Garba has changed his starting lineup for the fifth consecutive match at the ongoing U17 Africa Cup of Nations as his side battle Angola in the third place playoff on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eaglets will play their final game of the tournament with Sunday Stephen in goal, meaning the chances of Bournemouth goalkeeper Joseph Oluwabusola making his international debut are slim.
Central defenders Clement Ikenna and David Ishaya will protect the Abuja Football College glovesman.
Captain Samson Tijani starts in central midfield with Mayowa Abayomi, Fawaz Abdullahi and Olatomi Olaniyan occupy the remaining midfield positions.
Ibraheem Jabaar and Wisdom Ubani who have four goals between them at the U17 AFCON will start upfront.
Should he be introduced as a substitute, English-born Chelsea winger Adrian Akande will officially become provisionally cap-tied to Nigeria.
