However, we take ourselves back to memory lane and come up with top three moments when Nigeria teams had to come from behind to win games.
Nigeria 4 - 3 Brazil (Semi-final game at Atlanta Olympics, 1996)
This match was one of the best moments many Super Eagles fans will cherish forever due to the undying spirit displayed by 1996 Dream Team players.
The first half of the encounter finished 3-1 in favor of Brazil, leaving the Dream Team with a huge mountain to climb.
Surprisingly, the West African side scored two second-half goals to draw level with the American side, forcing the game into extra time.
Former Arsenal star Nwankwo Kanu masterminded the comeback victory as his extra time goal helped Nigeria record a famous 4-3 victory over Brazil.
USSR 4 Nigeria 4 (1989 U-20 World Cup)
The Flying Eagles shockingly found themselves 4-0 down in the first half against USSR(are now referred to as Russia) in one of quarter final fixtures during the U20 World Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia.
With 30 minutes to the end of the encounter when Nigeria's hopes of qualifying to the next round was almost gone, Chris Ohenhen masterminded the team's surprise comeback victory with two well-taken free kicks that found the back of the net.
Nduka Ugbade scored a late equalizer and the Flying Eagles went on to defeat USSR from the spot.
Nigeria 4 - 3 Morocco (CHAN 2014 Quarter-final)
Ejike Uzoenyi was the inspiration behind this comeback. The lively winger used his skills and pace to see that the home-based Eagles overturned a 3-0 first-half deficit against Morocco in the 2014 CHAN tournament. Nigeria went on to win the game by 4-3.
