Should Nigerians Be Happy With Victor Osimhen's Link To AC Milan?

Sporting Charleroi and Nigeria's in-form striker Victor Osimhen is no doubt one of the breakout stars in the Jupiler Pro League this season having scored 16 goals in all competitions.

His goalscoring form has unsurprisingly caught the attention of many European clubs who are reportedly set to battle for his signature as soon as the summer transfer window begins.

According to many media outlets, the 20-year-old goal-poacher is being monitored by AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso, who is looking at the prospect of reinforcing his attack before the start of next season.

Many Super Eagles supporters are willing to see the youngster move to a much-celebrated club to develop his game, and they believe the Serie A side is the place for him.

Another faction of the fans aren't too happy with the transfer rumors considering the fact that it may take Osimhen some time to break into Gattuso's list of regular starters.

Both factions are spot-on with their reasons, nonetheless, Osimhen has loads of quality to become a top striker for any team in the world as long as he remains fully fit and injury-free.

Having spent some time with Wolfsburg who are a modest club in Germany, you would expect that the youngster knows what it takes to break into the first-team of any European club.

It's believed that a striker won't develop every part of his game if he doesn't face quality defenders on a regular basis, so, Osimhen's proposed move to one of Europe top five leagues should be a thing of joy for every soccer-loving Nigerians.

Romelu Lukaku played for Anderlecht before joining Chelsea in 2011, and Henry Onyekuru scored 30 goals for Eupen before he was signed by Everton; it won't be out of place if Osimhen decides to join AC Milan after scoring not less than 15 goals for Sporting Charleroi this campaign.
