Nigerian Federation Announce Historic Friendly Against Ukraine In September
Published: August 09, 2019The Super Eagles will face Ukraine in a post-AFCON friendly next month, according to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick.
The game will be staged in the Ukrainian capital Kiev on September 10, three days after a European Championship qualifier against Lithuania.
The first window for international matches in the 2019-2020 season is September 2-10.
Amaju Pinnick said in a statement : ''Finally, we have secured a Grade A international friendly match for the Super Eagles against the Ukraine in Kiev, on the 10th of September.
''It is part of our on-going drive to expose as many players as we can to global football, so this should be another springboard for our young stars.''
Ukraine, who are ranked 25th in the world, have never played against Nigeria's senior national team in the past so it will be a historic game for both countries if it goes ahead.
