'Laceration on his face' - Slavia coach provides update on Moses after injury against Arsenal
Published: November 05, 2025
Slavia Prague coach Jindřich Trpišovský has provided an injury update on Nigerian midfielder David Moses following his side's 3-0 loss to Arsenal on matchday four in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.
In a historic encounter that saw Max Dowman become the youngest player in Champions League history, Bukayo Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half before Mikel Merino's second half brace sealed a convincing victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Moses, one of three Nigerian players involved in the clash at the Fortuna Arena, was forced off with sixteen minutes remaining after suffering an injury.
The midfielder, visibly in pain, signalled to the bench that he could not continue and was replaced by Daiki Hashioka.
The incident sparked concern among fans and teammates as the 21-year-old appeared to be in significant discomfort.
After the match, Trpišovský confirmed that Moses had sustained a laceration on his face and would undergo further medical examinations to assess the severity of the injury.
In quotes relayed by Slavia's official webpage, Trpišovský said: "Moses looks better than Choras, it's some kind of laceration on his face, he'll go for an examination, we'll see after the X-ray."
Moses' injury comes as another setback for Slavia, who are already without Igoh Ogbu, with the Super Eagles centre-back sidelined since August 30 due to a hamstring problem.
Both Moses and Ogbu are now major doubts for Slavia's final fixture before the international break, an away trip to FC Viktoria Plzeň.
Moses has featured in seventeen of Slavia's 20 matches this season, registering one assist against Pardubice on August 23.
