Bournemouth Starlet Training With Nigeria U17s; West Ham GK Receives Invite From NFF
Published: August 19, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Bournemouth goalkeeper Joseph Oluwabusola has linked up with the Nigeria U17s at their get-together in Abuja ahead of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
The Golden Eaglets coaches, including Manu Garba, have been running the rule over the 2003-born player since the start of the training camp last week, with a view to his inclusion on the 21-man roster for the tournament in Brazil.
Oluwabusola's presence in Abuja is certainly good news for the coaching staff as The Cherries were not obligated to release the goalkeeper to the Nigeria Football Federation because the training camp is not on the FIFA calendar.
Meanwhile, contrary to reports in the local media, this website can confirm with certainty that West Ham U18 goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu has been officially invited to attend the training camp by the Nigerian Federation.
The former Chelsea schoolboy has acknowledged receipt of the invitation letter sent by the NFF and has given his word that he will join the team this week.
The Golden Eaglets train twice a day, depending on the volume of work, and today's workout is scheduled to begin at 1200 hours.
The five-time FIFA U17 World Cup winners are likely heading to Turkey next month for an invitational tournament as part of their preparations for the World Cup.
