Tomori, Abraham Named In Chelsea's Champions League Squad; Three More Nigerians Eligible
Published: September 05, 2019
Two Nigeria Football Federation targets Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori are both in contention to make their Champions League debuts for Chelsea.
Manager Frank Lampard has included the two 21-year-olds in his squad list for the group stage of the Champions League.
Tomori and Abraham are among the locally trained players named in Chelsea's squad for the competition.
Although Jordan Aina, Faustino Anjorin and Tariq Uwakwe have been omitted from List A, they are eligible to feature for the Blues as they are all U21 players who have been on the books of the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday.
However, Chelsea must make a request to UEFA prior to midnight the day before a Champions League match to have the three teenagers listed in the B squad.
While Abraham will wear the number 9 jersey, central defender Tomori will use the number 29 kit in the Champions League.
Things have started brightly for the striker this season, with four goals in his first four appearances in the Premier League.
