Three Ukraine Players To Watch Out For Against Nigeria In Tuesday Friendly
Published: September 08, 2019
Ukraine and Nigeria will face off in an international friendly on Tuesday in Dnipro
Aside at the youth levels Nigeria have never faced the east Europeans but who are the players that the Nigerian team should watch out for.
Izuchukwu Okosi attempts to answer the questions of what three of the Ukrainian stars can bring
1. Marlos
The striker of Brazilian heritage scored one of Ukraine's goals in their 3-0 win over Lithuania on Saturday in a Euro 2020 Group B qualifier.
Marlos who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk has scored four goals in six league matches this season.
The grey haired Marlos has plenty of pace in his arsenal and must be watched closely by William Troost Ekong and the other available Eagles defenders.
2. Andriy Yarmolenko
West Ham United's Andriy Yarmolenko was also in action against Lithuania on Saturday and cannot be ignored as one of the danger men albeit he wasn't on the score sheet.
The Russian born striker has a left foot that unleashes canons for shots and could drift inwards from left side of the attack. His confrontation with Bryan Idowu could be one of the key battles in the match.
3. Oleksandr Zinchenko
Manchester City's left back Zinchenko played in midfield for Ukraine over the weekend and his versatility could be key for his team on Tuesday.
Zinchenko was on target for his national team but offered more than goals in the match.
The City man created scoring chances for his teammates and it will be interesting to see where he is deployed but certainly his qualities will shine through come Tuesday.
