Troost-Ekong On Young Players In Super Eagles Squad, Ukraine National Team

Udinese defender William Troost-Ekong accompanied Gernot Rohr to the pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday evening's friendly between Ukraine and Nigeria.

The Super Eagles number 5 spoke about the young players named to the roster and admitted that they were impressed with the performance of the Ukrainian team in their 3-0 win over Lithuania on Saturday, September 7.

''First of all, I would like to thank Ukraine for a very warm welcome. As for the upcoming match, it will be difficult for us, because now there are not many experienced players in our squad,'' Ekong told reporters.

''Although, on the other hand, young players are always eager to play for the national team.''

Ekong added : ''The whole team watched the match between Ukraine and Lithuania, and I must say that the game of the Ukrainian national team really impressed us.

In the absence of Ahmed Musa who pulled out of the squad due to injury, Ekong is expected to captain the Super Eagles on Tuesday evening.
