Ex-Sunderland Star Maja Reveals Two Of His Key Attributes Ahead Of Potential Eagles Debut
Published: September 10, 2019
Former Sunderland wonderkid Joshua Maja trained for the first time with the Super Eagles in Dnipro on Sunday ahead of a potential international debut against Ukraine this evening.
The Bordeaux striker was earlier called up by Gernot Rohr and the Nigeria Football Federation to train with the Super Eagles at their get together in London back in March 2017 but club commitments prevented him from honoring the invitation.
Maja describes himself as a striker who loves to score goals and create chances for his teammates.
Maja said in a YouTube video uploaded by the Super Eagles Media team : ''I play as a center forward, I like to create chances, score goals. I just work hard for the team.
''I look forward to the game and I hope I can show what I can do and stay in the squad for as long as possible''.
On his invitation to the Super Eagles for the friendly vs Ukraine, he said : ''I am delighted to get my first call-up for Nigeria, this is a big opportunity to show the fans and staff what I can do.
''I am going to work my hardest and give my quota to make my family, fans and coaches proud''.

Maja, 20, has been involved in every single game contested by Bordeaux in the Ligue 1 so far this season, four in total, and found the net against Montpellier on match day two.
