Manchester United's Nigerian Super Kid Makes Quick Recovery From Injury
Published: September 14, 2019Dutch-born Nigerian striker Dillon Hoogewerf has recovered from his injury sooner than expected, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Ajax Amsterdam wonderkid picked up the undisclosed injury on the last match day before the international break, against Liverpool in the U18 Premier League on August 31.
However, the fact that Hoogewerf was included in Manchester United's matchday squad against Fulham on Friday evening clearing suggests that his injury worries are behind him, though he was a non-playing substitute.
The versatile striker has made a big impression on United's youth team coaches as the game against the Cottagers was the second consecutive match he was promoted to the U23 squad and it is inevitable that he'll make his debut for that age group before the end of the season.
He is one of the first names on Manchester United U18s team-sheet, starting each of their last three games in the U18 Premier League.
Hoogewerf withdrew from the Netherlands U17 squad ahead of their forthcoming international friendlies against France.
