Chelsea's Abraham Confirms He Was Wanted By Wolves; Could Equal Ronaldo's Record Today
Tammy Abraham has confirmed that he was wanted by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window and has revealed his delight that the move fell through.

With an impressive first half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, Wolves did everything possible to bring the England U21 star to the Molineux Stadium to bolster their attacking options but were unsuccessful.

It is believed that Abraham pulled the plug on the deal as he wanted to help Aston Villa in their quest to return to the Premier League.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Abraham said : ''There were a couple of things I was hearing last January about the Wolves move, but I’m pleased to be here now and I can’t wait to get out there''.

In terms of goals, Abraham has been Chelsea's most outstanding player in the new season and he's looking forward to action after the international break.

The number 9 added : ''It has felt like years since our last game! I am used to being away with England at the younger age groups, the Under-21s most recently, so it’s been a bit different being here.

''I think when you go away you don’t realise how long the international break is, but training has been good quality with good intensity.

''A couple of the boys have come back into training, and now we just can’t wait to get back out there and hit the ground running''.

Should he find the net more than once against Wolves this afternoon, Abraham will become only the third Premier League footballer aged 21 years or under to score twice or more in three successive games, equaling a record held by Dele Alli (January 2017) and ex-Manchester United striker Ronaldo (December 2006).
