The Fitness Update From Brighton That Will Worry Nigeria, Rohr Ahead Of Brazil Friendly
Published: September 24, 2019
Premier League club Brighton & Hove have provided a fitness update that will certainly worry manager Gernot Rohr and Super Eagles fans ahead of next month's glamor friendly against Brazil in Singapore, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Seagulls have informed via their official website that Leon Balogun is unavailable for selection for tomorrow's League Cup third round fixture against Aston Villa at the American Express Community Stadium without disclosing his expected date of return to action.
What this means is that the central defender is clearly fighting to be match fit and now rated as doubtful for the friendly against the South American powerhouse.
Balogun sustained a minor muscle injury whilst on international duty with the Super Eagles earlier this month and had to be omitted from the matchday squad against Ukraine.
The 31-year-old has not tasted action for Brighton & Hove in the Premier League this season and his only appearance so far was against Bristol Rovers in the second round of the League Cup 28 days ago.
The Nigeria Football Federation is expected to announce a roster for the friendly against Brazil before the end of this month.
