Chukwueze Battles Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona Starlets For Golden Boy Award
Published: September 24, 2019
Super Eagles youngster Samuel Chukwueze is in the running for this year's Golden Boy award as he's included in the recently released list of 40 players.
Chukwueze, 20, enjoyed a great run of form for both club and country during the year as he helped Villarreal avoid relegation at the end of last season.
He already has one goal and an assist for the Yellow Submarine so far this season and he's tipped as one of La Liga's young players to watch.
The winger scored his first Super Eagles goal during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and was rated as one of the country's most impressive players in Egypt by soccer-loving Nigerians.
Tom Dele-Bashiru is another Nigeria player who made the cut after his wonderful showing for the Flying Eagles duringĀ U20 World Cup tournament in Poland.
The former Manchester City youngster scored a goal for Paul Aigbogun's team who were knocked out by Senegal.
Both players will need to overcome competition from Matteo Guendouzi, Reiss Nelson (both Arsenal), Mason Mount (Chelsea ), Jean-Clair Todibo (Barcelona ), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) and 33 other exciting young talents to win the prestigious award.
