Promising Arsenal Goalkeeper Ejeheri Shines In His First Game Back From Injury
Promising Nigerian goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri was impressive as Arsenal U16s hammered Leyton Orient 5-0 in a friendly on Thursday, October 3.

It was his first appearance for the Gunners youth team in over a year after recovering from injury, and posting a shutout will boost his confidence ahead of a potential debut for the U18s.

Khayon Edwards struck four goals and Omari Hutchinson also got on the scoresheet for Arsenal in the comprehensive win.

Two days after Ejeheri's impressive performance against The O's, he was named in the matchday squad in the U18 Premier League game against Reading.

Despite a long spell in the treatment room, the 16-year-old signed scholarship forms with Arsenal in July 2019.

Nigeria U17 invitee Malcolm Ebiowei did not feature for Arsenal in the friendly as he has been declared surplus to requirements by the North London club and has traveled to Abuja for a training camp.

Arsenal U18s play host to Tottenham Hotspur in their first match after the international break on Saturday, October 19.
