One Super Eagles Star Commended By Everton's Richarlison After Brazil's 1-1 Draw Vs Nigeria
Published: October 14, 2019Everton striker Richarlison was understandably disappointed in the wake of Brazil's 1-1 draw against Nigeria at the National Stadium in Singapore on Sunday afternoon.
It's the fourth straight game played by the Copa America champions without a win, their longest winless streak since the beginning of 2013, when they played five matches against Colombia, Argentina, England, Italy and Russia (from November 2012 to March 2013) without winning.
A minute from time, Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho would have snatched a win for the South Americans but his goal bound effort was cleared off the line by central defender Semi Ajayi, something which was noted by Richarlison in his assessment of the match against Nigeria.
Speaking to reporters post-match, Richarlison said : ''When we wear the national team shirt we only think about victory, I came here and coming back with two draws is a bit bad, but we have to take advantage of what happened, especially in the second half of today.
''The ball is not coming in, the ball on the post, the player taking the ball over the line, but it happens, we have to keep going''.
Richarlison's Everton teammate Alex Iwobi started for the Super Eagles and was in action for 84 minutes before making way for Ramon Azeez.
