Former Manchester United Striker Odubeko Scores On Debut For West Ham Team
Published: November 02, 2019Nigeria-eligible striker Ademipo Odubeko scored on his competitive debut for West Ham United U18 team as they registered an 8-2 win against Swansea City in the U18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The highly-coveted teenager ended speculation about his future by inking a deal with the Hammers on Friday, October 25, ignoring overtures from several big clubs in Europe.
Ten minutes into his debut, Odubeko doubled West Ham's advantage, assisted by Jake Giddings.
The Republic of Ireland youth-teamer is lacking match fitness having just arrived at the London club , so had to be replaced at half-time.
Odubeko also netted on his debut for Manchester United in the U18 Premier League in February 2019, and today's game against the Swans was his third appearance in the youth league this year.
Last season, the 17-year-old scored a staggering 35 goals for Manchester United youth teams.
Another player of Nigerian descent in Joshua Okocha started for the Hammers against Swansea City.
