Official : Super Eagles Goalkeeper Extends Contract With Kaizer Chiefs
Nigeria international Daniel Akpeyi has been rewarded with a new deal by ABSA Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs, the Amakhosi reported via their official website on Wednesday.

Akpeyi is now under contract with Kaizer Chiefs until June 30, 2022, having put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension.

The experienced glovesman has been in brilliant form this season, posting eight shutouts in the league while conceding 12 goals in 16 appearances.

He has also featured in two matches in the Telkom Knockout, taking his total appearances to 24 since his arrival from Chippa United in January 2019.

On the back of his outstanding displays for Kaizer Chiefs, he was handed a recall to the Super Eagles for their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho last November, after he was overlooked for the international friendlies against Ukraine and Brazil.

Akpeyi played for Warri Wolves, Gabros and Nasarawa United in his homeland before moving to South Africa.
