Ex-Chelsea Striker Reveals One Area Saka Has Improved Enormously Under Arteta
Published: February 09, 2020
Onetime Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has revealed that Bukayo Saka has improved enormously under Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta after initially struggling when he was deployed at left-back.
Predominantly a winger, the Hale End Academy product profited from the injuries suffered by experienced left-backs Sead KolaĊĦinac and Kieran Tierney, making the starting line-up in the last four games played by the Gunners.
Saka delivered arguably his best performance in a domestic match this season as Arsenal beat Bournemouth 2-1 in the Emirates FA Cup on January 27.
"Saka at left-back has done brilliantly well,'' Cascarino said on talkSPORT.
"I mean, that was a big decision because he looked very raw and quite naive as a left-back when he first got into the team, and I think under Arteta he has improved enormously.
"I do think they are better defensively, I think they are a better team without the ball."

Saka is with the Arsenal squad in Dubai for a warm-weather training camp as part of their preparations for their next Premier League game against Newcastle United next Sunday.
