Former Arsenal Midfielder Ebiowei Makes His Full Debut For Glasgow Rangers Team
Published: February 21, 2020
Former Nigeria U17 invitee Malcolm Ebiowei has made his full debut for Rangers youth team, a day after the Scottish Premiership giants announced his capture, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The 2003-born attacking midfielder started for Rangers U19s as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen in the semifinal of the Scottish Youth Cup this afternoon.
On 20 minutes, Aberdeen took the lead through Michael Ruth, then he got his brace his nine minutes later, before Ross McCausland halved the deficit six minutes before the end of the half.
Having received a booking in the 42nd minute, Ebiowei was replaced twenty-one minutes into the second half.
Prior to his substitution, the former Arsenal wonderkid came close to scoring but saw his shot deflected for a corner.
Touted as one of the brightest young talents in Arsenal's U16 team at the start of the 2019-2020 season, Ebiowei was surprisingly not offered a scholarship by the north London club and was forced to move onto pastures new.
He has represented the Netherlands and England at U15 and U16 level respectively.
