'Manchester United And Chelsea Are Coming Behind Us' - Iheanacho Warns Leicester Teammates
Published: February 29, 2020
Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City continued their poor form on Friday night, losing 1-0 to relegation candidates Norwich City in a Premier League game at Carrow Road.
The Foxes have accumulated just four points from their last seven matches in the top-flight and are six points above fourth placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand, while Manchester United are nine points behind the King Power Stadium outfit ahead of their trip to Everton this weekend.
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho has sent a warning to his Leicester City teammates that they cannot afford any more slip-ups in the race for the Champions League spots as Chelsea and Manchester United are breathing down their necks.
"Everyone is really working hard but I think we need to do a bit more. We need to fight more, we need to show more character and desire to win games," Iheanacho told Premier League Productions.
"Of course we are third place in the Premier League. Manchester United and Chelsea are coming behind us so we need to be careful as well. We need to get the points we need".

Iheanacho admitted that he missed playing alongside his strike partner Jamie Vardy, who was unavailable for selection against the Canaries due to a low grade calf injury.
"He is a top striker, we need him in the team, we need him back as soon as possible.
"If he's not here, I am here to replace him. We wish him a quick recovery and hopefully he will be back soon for the team," he concluded.

Iheanacho's early goal in the second half was ruled out after the video assistant referee deemed the ball landed on his hand before he struck a brilliant shot.
