(Snapped) 18-Year-Old Nigeria-Eligible Midfielder Trains With Chelsea First Team Pre-Liverpool
Published: March 02, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that talented midfielder of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin, 18 , has been included in Chelsea's provisional squad list for their mouthwatering Emirates FA Cup clash against European champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Manager Frank Lampard monitored the England U19 international at close quarters in the final workout on Monday with a view to naming him in the matchday eighteen.
Lampard will not be able to count on the services of midfielder N’Golo Kante, wingers Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi against the Reds, and the versatile Anjorin, who can play in both positions, was drafted into first team training.
Anjorin was omitted from the Chelsea U23 squad that beat Everton tonight, fueling speculation that he could play a part against Liverpool.
It will be his second game for Chelsea's first team under Frank Lampard if he's given a run-out against Liverpool, having made his professional debut in a 7-1 rout of Grimsby Town in a League Cup match in September 2019.
Named after Colombia and Newcastle legend, Faustino Asprilla, he has played nonstop at Chelsea since the age of seven.
