Published: March 03, 2020
Premier League champions Manchester City are ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Nnamdi Collins.
German newspaper Bild is reporting that the Citizens are willing to pay two million euros (approximately N774 million) to acquire the German-born Nigerian center back, which puts them in pole position to land the highly-rated teenager.
Chelsea have offered at least one millions for the signature of Collins who has been identified as a player with leadership qualities, having captained Germany's U16 squad in international friendlies against Finland and Netherlands.
The 16-year-old is having an outstanding season at Borussia Dortmund U17s, for whom he has made 20 appearances in the B-Junioren Bundesliga West.
Though his main job is to protect the goal, Collins has goalscoring qualities, netting four times in his first eleven games of the season while producing an assist.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Felix and Lukas Nmecha, who were all born in Hamburg, Germany and have Nigerian blood in their veins, are on the books of Manchester City.
