Man Utd Goal Of The Month: Two Nigerian Teenagers Battling Martial, McTominay, Greenwood, 4 Others
Published: March 04, 2020
Two attack-minded Nigeria-eligible teenagers in the shape of Ayodeji Sotona and Dillon Hoogewerf are in the running for Manchester United's Goal of the Month for February 2020, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
As revealed by the official website of the Red Devils, joining Sotona and Hoogewerf on a ten-goal shortlist are efforts from first team stars Anthony Martial (2), Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay and Fred, and goals from Manchester United Women duo Leah Galton and Lauren James; James Garner's strike vs Club Brugge U19s in a friendly also made the cut.
The diminutive Hoogewerf was selected for his headed goal on the hour mark in United U18s 1-0 win against Leeds United in the FA Youth Cup.
The former Ajax Amsterdam super kid has been inactive for the Old Trafford outfit since that game on February 5 due to injury.
Speed star Sotona has been nominated for his stunning strike against Wigan Athletic in the FA Youth Cup.
Odion Ighalo's poacher's finish against Club Brugge in the Europa League and Shola Shoretire's goal against Wigan did not make the shortlist for Goal of the Month.
