Nigeria-eligible midfielder Faustino Anjorin was handed his English
Premier League debut by manager Frank Lampard as Chelsea thrashed
Everton 4-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, March 8.
The England U19 international made his first appearance in the Premier League twelve years after he first trained with Blues.
One
of the most exciting teenagers at Chelsea Academy, Anjorin name-checked
two first-team stars in the shape of former Nigeria Football Federation
target Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount as he revealed the players that
have been looking after him.
"(In the
academy) we're not friends, we're like brothers. And when we go over to
the first team, it's very welcoming, it's like a family," Anjorin said
to The Independent.
"Having
players like Tammy (Abraham) and Mason (Mount), they know what it's
like being a younger player in the academy. They look after you and give
you what maybe they never had at my age.
"Callum
(Hudson-Odoi) is only a year above me. It’s relatable, so 100 per cent
it makes you more confident knowing the chances are there."
With
five goals to his name from 11 appearances, Anjorin is Chelsea's
leading scorer in the Premier League 2 and he's captain of the U18 team
that have reached the semifinals of the FA Youth Cup.
