Best Available 5-A-Side Lineups : Ndidi Makes Second-Placed Leicester City Team
Published: March 21, 2020
Football statistics gurus Whoscored.com have published an alternative English Premier League table based on the best available five-a-side lineups with Leicester City ranked second behind Liverpool, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers complete the top five clubs in that order.
For the sake of clarity, Liverpool (82 points), Manchester City (57 pts), Leicester City (53 pts), Chelsea (48 pts) and Manchester United (45 pts) were the top five ranked teams in the Premier League before football activities were postponed as a precautionary measure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Of the twenty Premier League clubs, only two Nigeria-eligible players in Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi and Bournemouth's Philip Billing were included in their respective clubs five-a-side lineup.
One goalkeeper, one defender, one midfielder and one striker, coupled with the next top-rated player were selected in each team.
The Foxes five-a-side team contains Kasper Schmeichel, Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy and they have an average team rating of 7.25.
Ndidi was eligible to be named in Leicester City's 5-a-side lineup because he has been involved in more than half of the matches they have played in the Premier League this season.
