Michael Rummenigge Predicts More Game Time For Zirkzee Amid Bayern's Link With Leroy Sane, Werner
Published: April 11, 2020
Michael Rummenigge, the younger brother of Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, reckons that Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee will get more playing opportunities in future despite Bayern Munich being linked with two attack-minded players in Manchester City's Leroy Sané and RB Leipzig's Timo Werner in the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old has shown a lot of promise since his promotion to Bayern Munich's first team, scoring 3 goals in 8 games.
Zirkzee provided cover for the injured Robert Lewandowski in Bayern Munich's last two Bundesliga games before the league was suspended as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
Writing in his column for Sportbuzzer, Michael Rummenigge said : "Nevertheless, you will already look at the squad for the coming season in Munich and deal with reinforcements.
"Two names in particular are mentioned again and again: Leroy Sané and Timo Werner.
"Everything always depends on the price, but I can't imagine Bayern getting both national team players. Especially since I heard that Joshua Zirkzee will have more opportunities in the future."

At 18 years and 210 days old, Zirkzee is the third youngest player to score for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga after Roque Santa Cruz (18 years and 12 days) and Alphonso Davies (18 years and 135 days).
