'My Aim Is To Face Barcelona, Chelsea In Champions League' - 'Little Messi' On Targets With Hammarby
Published: June 20, 2020
Former Nigeria U17 international Akinkunmi Amoo, otherwise known as 'Little Messi', habours the ambition of playing in the UEFA Champions League as from the 2021-2022 season.
The Sidos Academy product recently ended speculation about his future by penning a four-year contract with Swedish Allsvenskan side Hammarby, partly owned by legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Though Amoo has set lofty targets, he was not even born the last and only time Hammarby have managed to win the Swedish top-flight and that was back in the 2001 season.
The following year, the Stockholm based side didn't make it to the group stage of the Champions League after losing 5-1 on aggregate to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade.
Speaking to Bunmi Productions, Amoo said : "We should win the league this season and qualify for the Champions League next season because my aim is to play in the Champions League against big clubs Barcelona and Chelsea.
"Assuming we win the league for the first time, I would be happy the season I got there we won the league and my aim there is to be among the highest goalscorers and assist providers."
