Leicester City Boss Insists Substitution Of Iheanacho Vs Bournemouth Wasn't Negative
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the substitution of Kelechi Iheanacho at half-time in his side's shock 4-1 loss to Bournemouth in the last round of matches in the England Premier League wasn't a negative one.

Heading into the fixture at the Vitality Stadium, the Nigeria international was in red-hot form, netting in back-to-back fixtures against Everton and Crystal Palace, and was unlucky to be denied by the VAR after scoring what seemed to be a legitimate goal at Arsenal.

Though Iheanacho wasn't having a bad day, he had to make way for Dennis Praet, a move Rodgers was forced to defend at Tuesday's pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Sheffield United.

"Last week I was told we had the most impact from subs. A week later, I’m too negative," Rodgers was quoted as saying by Leicestershire Live.

"I made the change and primarily throughout the season, Kel has been an impact player for us. It wasn’t necessarily a negative substitution.

"I’ll go on the feel of the game. I’ll continue to analyse games as I do."

Of his 18 appearances in the Premier League this season, Iheanacho has been named in the starting lineup on eleven occasions.
