Omeruo Listed As Doubtful For 'Most Important Match Of Leganes History In La Liga'
Published: July 16, 2020
Kenneth Omeruo has been listed as doubtful for CD Leganes' La Liga clash against Athletic Club at San Mamés on Thursday evening.
It is a match that has massive ramifications on Leganes' La Liga status come the end of the 2019-2020 season as a defeat today will see them relegated with one game to go.
At Wednesday's pre-match conference, manager Javier Aguirre confirmed that Chidozie Awaziem is among seven players that will not be able to play the match because of injuries and suspensions.
As for Omeruo, he is a doubt because of physical problems suffered in the opening minutes of the match with Sevilla on June 30.
Speaking on the players he won't be able to count on vs Athletic Club , Aguirre said : "It may be the most important match of the season and Leganés’ history in First Division. It is not normal not to have that many absences.
"The ones that go out into the pitch will do their best. We are brave and cannot wait to play the match".
Omeruo has not been selected for three consecutive matches against Espanyol, SD Eibar and Valencia due to a hamstring issue.
