Breaking : Ex-West Ham Striker Arrives In Cyprus For Contract Talks With Olympiakos Nicosia
Published: July 23, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that former West Ham striker Victor Obinna has arrived in Cyprus for contract talks with three-time league champions Olympiakos Nicosia.
The Nigeria international landed in the Island Nation on Wednesday night and was welcomed to Nicosia by his Cypriot intermediary Tekin Birinci, who used to look after ex-Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins.
Obinna has been inactive for approximately two years, so Olympiakos Nicosia are planning to monitor his fitness in training before shaking hands with the player as from next week.
Having said that, the Super Eagle is in good fitness as he had been training on his own for several months with a view to joining a new club.
Obinna will hold talks with Olympiakos Nicosia coach in the coming hours and he's scheduled to train with the team on Saturday, July 25.
The 33-year-old has an intimidating curriculum vitae, with appearances in the Italian Serie A, Premier League, German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga, and played at the 2010 World Cup.
