Miguel Azeez Named Arsenal Academy Most Skillful Player By Teammate
Published: July 25, 2020
Nigeria-eligible teenager Miguel Azeez has been named as the most skillful player in the Arsenal Academy by his teammate, Estonia U21 international Karl Hein.
It was the turn of goalkeeper Hein to chat with Arsenal's official matchday programme ahead of Arsenal's last game of the Premier League season against Watford, and when asked to name the player with the most skills around the academy, he responded, 'Miguel Azeez'.
Aged 17, Azeez is blessed with an excellent range of passing, can dictate the tempo of a game and can play all the positions in midfield.
He was one of twelve players of Nigerian descent that featured for Arsenal's Academy teams last term, the others being Folarin Balogun, Tolaji Bola, Joseph Olowu, James Olayinka, Tobi Omole, Mazeed Ogungbo, Bukayo Saka, Ryan Alebiosu, Nathan Butker-Oyedeji, Daniel Oyegoke and Malcolm Ebiowei.
Azeez made 2 appearances in Premier League 2, one in the EFL Trophy, 15 for the U18 team, while he tasted action twice in the FA Youth Cup and played one game in the Premier League International Cup in the curtailed academy season.
Born in England and eligible for Spain through his mother, he has been tipped to make his professional debut next season having trained with the Arsenal first team on multiple occasions.
