'He Always Tries To Make Things Happen' - Rangers Coach Gerrard Lauds In-form Super Eagle
Glasgow Rangers maintained their one hundred percent record in pre-season after beating English League One club Coventry City 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday evening.

Five minutes after the restart, the Scottish giants broke the deadlock through Joe Aribo, who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper from inside the box after exchanging passes with Morelos, then Goldson sealed the win with the hosts' second goal in the 67th minute.

Aribo has been in fine form in pre-season, netting in back-to-back friendlies, and Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is urging the versatile midfielder to replicate his recent performances when the season gets underway next weekend.

"Wherever we play Joe he always tries to make things happen," Gerrard told reporters post-match.

"He's come back in a fantastic place. He's come back fitter, he's come back focused and all I ask is that he takes his pre-season performances into the season because if he does, he's going to be a major help for us."

Last season, Aribo, who was signed from Charlton Athletic, scored 9 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions and provided eight assists.
