Nigeria international Ini Umotong has made her debut for Vaxjo, few days after her transfer was confirmed by the Swedish Damallsvenskan club, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Super Falcon ended her three-year association with Brighton & Hove in June 2020 following the expiration of her contract, before joining Vaxjo on an initial 18-month deal.
Umotong started Sunday's league match against Djurgården on the bench but with the her team seeking to break the deadlock, she was introduced off the bench in the 57th minute wearing the iconic number 23 on the back of her jersey.
The only goal of the match was scored by Signe Holt Andersen, who converted a penalty in the 76th minute to take her tally to 3 goals in two games.
Born in Nigeria but also a British citizen, Umotong scored goals for fun during her time with Oxford United and Portsmouth and she will be hoping to do the same for Vaxjo.
With 8 points, Vaxjo are ninth in the Damallsvenskan standings. They are guests to Eskilstuna United this coming Saturday.
