Nigeria-Eligible Striker Babajide Assigned Iconic No. 10 Shirt By Liverpool For 2020-21 Season
Published: August 03, 2020
Liverpool FC Women's England youth international of Nigeria descent, Rinsola Babajide will be wearing the iconic number 10 shirt when the 2020-2021 season gets underway.
Through their official website, Liverpool FC Women have confirmed their squad numbers for the upcoming season, with Babajide switching to the number 10 from her previous number 20.
In the curtailed season, Scotland international Christie Murray was allocated the number 10 shirt but she departed the Reds in the close season, leaving the shirt vacant.
Babajide was assigned the number 20 after joining Liverpool from Watford in January 2018, a number she retained for the last two and a half years, before the exit of Murray opened the door for a new number 10.
The new Liverpool Women number 10 excelled last term, ending the campaign as the top scorer with eight goals.
And despite Liverpool Women losing their top-flight status, Babajide put pen to paper on a new deal.
She has scored 15 goals in 43 appearances for the Reds since joining the club.
